Josh writes music that feels unearthed rather than composed, pieces that move with the weight of memory, instinct, and quiet fire.
Originally from the UK and now based in Los Angeles, his work has threaded its way through festival-bound films across Indie Shorts, the Seattle Film Festival, the London Global Film Awards, and the YUGO BAFTAs.
His sound is built on contrasts: lyrical themes wrapped in deep, shadowed textures; orchestration that breathes, expands, and reveals more the longer you listen. That voice earned him the Alan Menken Award, a recognition of a musical imagination that refuses to stay still.
As founder of Origin Voices and Co-Creative Director of The Colossus Collective, Josh moves between collaboration and experimentation, shaping music that feels contemporary yet rooted in something older, something sensed beneath the surface.
Trained at Cardiff School of Music and later at NYU’s Screen Scoring program, he carries a lineage of choral, folk, and chamber influences. In his work, those traditions blur into something atmospheric, cinematic, and unmistakably his own.
